Vibram® soles are required to pass 3 levels of testing before they reach the market.
LABORATORY TESTING
The first level of testing is carried out in the laboratory, in a controlled environment, with verification of the physical-mechanical properties that are handled using machines to test for the following:
- ✔ Slip resistance
- ✔ Abrasion resistance
- ✔ Degree of elasticity
- ✔ Degree of hardness and density
FIELD TESTING
The second level of testing is carried out by the Vibram® Tester Team directly in the field, outdoors and in the most extreme conditions to test the following:
- ✔ Soles
- ✔ Designs
- ✔ Compounds
LIVE TESTING
The third level of testing is an indoor test based on scientific protocols (‘in-vivo’) to test the performance of the compound in terms of reliability and comparison with other compounds that have already been tested and are considered reliable using a flat sole design.
